Statistics From The Spring 2008 Sales
Our mission at Neat Repeatz is to provide the community with an opportunity to earn money, save money and support local charities. This sale has been a great success in all of these areas. There were 485 consignors that participated in the Children's Consignment sale and contributed over 45,000 items.
The new and expecting mom’s presale again increased the sale of the maternity and newborn items. This presale grew substantially, maybe due to the added exposure at the OB/GYN offices. We had many new shoppers and of course the repeat shoppers who bought close to 80% of the items.
Save, save, save! That is what I saw many of you doing. There were many great deals and they were snatched up very quickly. I know many of you are like me and bought your child’s whole Spring/Summer wardrobe at the sale.
What a wonderful thing we did!!! The Neat Repeatz consignors and shoppers were able to raise over $800 for the Child Advocacy Center. When you add the amount the Neat Repeatz will match, that is a total of $1600 for this great charity. We were also able to collect over 30 new and handmade blankets for the Child Advocacy Center.
Hundreds of unsold items were donated to local charities. All the charities were overjoyed to receive your donated items. Many of the charities have family ties to our very own consignors and volunteers which makes giving even closer to our hearts. Here is a list of charities that received your wonderful items:
· NFAPA/ Foster Care Closet (www.nfapa.org) received items for baby through teens in foster care. We were able to help fill up their closet for the upcoming summer.
· Granny’s Comfy Closet, they provide children’s items to families in need in the local communities just south of Lincoln.
· BirthRight received many maternity items. They were so pleased to get such a variety and fashionable, too!
· Lincoln Crisis Pregnancy Center also received many great maternity and newborn items.
· The Child Advocacy Center received toys and games for children in counseling.
· Hispanic Community Center received clothing items for infants through teens for families in need. Everything was received with such gratitude.
We wish everyone could be present to see how thankful these organizations are for the donations.
Annual Adult’s Consignment Sale Summary
Well, we did it! We had our first Adult’s Consignment Sale. It gave us all a chance to clean out our closets and de-clutter our houses a bit. We had a great time getting a feel for this new sale. Many new consignors and volunteers joined our group, and many new friendships were made. Thank you to everyone who made this sale happen!
Here are the statistics. We had more than 200 consignors who brought 10,000 items to the sale. An amazing turn-out for the first sale! In turn we were able to sell over 40% of those items. Now, compared to the Children's Sale, it doesn't seem like much. But, rainy days can affect sales for the thrift shopper. We also learned some valuable lessons about who shops the adult's sale. Unlike consignors at the children's sale, adult sale consignors aren't as anxious to shop since they are trying to clean out their closets! We are looking forward to trying new marketing techniques to reach a greater thrift-shopper crowd and improve that number for the next sale.
